Liv & Oliver would often be at the same events but had never properly met. Some mutual friends suggested that they should get in touch with one another. One blind date three days before a nation wide lockdown and a wild idea to spend it together on Oliver’s family farm in Waitomo has turned into the most romantic covid story ever. Their wedding took place at L’Orangerie in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty.

The more time I spend as a wedding photographer, the better I understand the role I play on such a special occasion. It’s not so much about finding the perfect portrait locations, concentrating on a specific shot list or over editing the images until it doesn’t even look like how it really did. While I still see my work as a form of art, I hope that this story portrays the genuine love and beauty of a day like this.
